The winning coach of Saturday’s LSU-Auburn matchup was supposed to be able to breathe easier for at least a week or two while the loser was likely all but out the door of his current job.
So when Auburn beat LSU 18-13 with an overturned touchdown call on the final play of the game, it sent the Internet and some college football analysts into a predictable hunt for Les Miles’ head.
Miles barely survived last season and he was supposed to have a team capable of competing for an SEC and national title with a possible Heisman Trophy finalist in Leonard Fournette in the backfield. None of that appears likely to pan out at this point with the Tigers falling to 2-2 before the arrival of October.
