Marquez Beason is making the most of his planned visit to Louisiana.
Beason, a top-100 prospect in the Class of 2019, will make an unofficial visit to LSU on Feb. 4, a day after competing the annual SPE Camp in Sulphur, La., the day prior.
The 6-foot, 175-pound athlete from Bishop Dunne (Texas) High School in Dallas has held an offer from LSU for more than a year, but recently received a renewed offer, this time as a defensive back. Beason recently decided he wanted to be recruited as a defensive prospect as opposed to a wide receiver.
Beason will have a chance to re-connect with LSU defensive backs coach Corey Raymond on the visit right before National Signing Day. The Tigers are in line to take two and upward of three defensive backs in their 2018 recruiting class, but are planning to a much bigger haul in next year’s cycle.
Beason ranks as the No. 83 prospect in the country for 2019, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. He ranks as the No. 6 overall athlete and the No. 10 prospect in Texas.
