COLUMBUS, Ohio — Well, at least LSU tried. Or planned to try.
After a report that LSU would reach out to Urban Meyer regarding its coaching vacancy, the Ohio State head coach quickly dismissed that as a possibility when asked about it during the Big Ten coaches teleconference on Tuesday.
“No, I’ve not been contacted,” he said. “I’m going to be the coach at Ohio State.”
LSU fired Les Miles on Sunday and installed Ed Orgeron as the interim head coach. Former Ohio State offensive coordinator Tom Herman has been listed as one of the top candidates for the job. Herman is the head coach at Houston.
