BATON ROUGE, La. — We were anxious to see Leonard Fournette return to the LSU lineup. Now we remember why.
No. 7 helped LSU get on the scoreboard by ripping off a 58-yard touchdown run to cut the home team’s deficit to 3 with 3:26 to go in the opening quarter.
The Tigers fell behind 10-0 to Ole Miss as the offense struggled — at least early on — but Fournette’s lengthy touchdown run capped off a three-play, 75-yard scoring drive.
Remember, Fournette has not played since LSU’s heartbreaking loss on the road to Auburn, which led to Les Miles’ firing.
