LSU is hoping for some good news out of the Saturday’s Under Armour All-America game, which boasts more than 90 of the nation’s top high school players. It will be televised Saturday at noon ET on ESPN2.
Here’s the rundown on LSU targets:
Drake Davis, 4-star WR, Bradenton, Fla.
- Finalists: LSU, Ole Miss, Alabama
- Analysis: Davis is choosing from three SEC schools, but has long been linked to Ole Miss. More specifically, the 4-star wide receiver and Louisiana native is likely going to choose between LSU and Ole Miss. While Davis took his one official visit to Baton Rouge, La., the wide receiver depth of LSU’s 2016 recruiting class makes the Tigers less likely to nab a commitment from Davis. Consider Ole Miss the frontrunner to earn Davis’ nod.
- My prediction: Ole Miss
Jean Delance, 4-star OT, Mesquite, Texas
- Finalists: LSU, Texas, Michigan
- Analysis: One of the top uncommitted tackles in the nation, Delance is considering only one SEC team, and that’s LSU. The Texas tackle praised the Tigers earlier this week in Orlando, Fla., indicating that he is intrigued by the possibility of playing in the SEC and could see himself competing for early playing time at LSU. The Tigers will likely have opportunities for a young tackle to earn a starting spot given the wealth of seniors and prospective NFL talent. LSU is also close to Delance’s hometown.
- My prediction: LSU
