One of college football’s best Week 1 moments became one of its ugliest in a hurry when LSU lineman Josh Boutte committed a vicious personal foul on Wisconsin defensive back D’Cota Dixon, who was celebrating his game-winning interception.
LSU coach Les Miles suspended Boutte one game for the attack, which apparently did not seriously injure Dixon.
Instead of calling out Boutte in the media this week, Dixon has taken another approach: mercy. He said he wished Boutte had not been suspended after the hit, saying “people handle their frustrations differently.”
