Former Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott and former Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliott are great together with the Dallas Cowboys.
How great? Apparently, Elliott is comfortable enough to crack about Prescott’s hairline.
As reported in a piece by The Dallas Morning News’ Brandon George, Elliott and Prescott enjoy giving each other good-natured ribbing, a reflection of their comfort with each other.
“Zeke has a ton of jokes on Dak’s hairline,” Cowboys wide receiver Lucky Whitehead told the newspaper. “It’s back and forth. It’s definitely a great relationship.”
In the piece, George reports how the two rookies have grown close in a short time. Prescott told George that “as soon as we were drafted, we clicked immediately.”
The chemistry has helped the Cowboys’ offense in Dallas’ 4-1 start without veteran quarterback Tony Romo. Elliott leads the Cowboys with 546 yards rushing, and Prescott has 1,239 yards passing with four touchdowns and no interceptions this season.
Here’s more from the story:
There’s a good chance that quarterback Dak Prescott and running back Ezekiel Elliott will be out on the town together once Dallas’ team flight returns from Green Bay.
The Cowboys’ dynamic rookie duo has become fast friends while helping lead the team to first place in the NFC East at 4-1.
Prescott and Elliott first met at the NFL scouting combine in late February in Indianapolis. Two months later, they became teammates.
It’s a good sign for the Cowboys that two pillars of their future have formed such a strong chemistry quickly. It will be fun to see the progression of both as they mature in the NFL.
