Mississippi State and Kentucky entered their Week 8 matchup as two of the upstart programs in the SEC this year.
Make that just Mississippi State now after a 45-7 thumping of the Wildcats.
Nick Fitzgerald gave the homecoming crowd what it traveled back to Starkville for, throwing for 155 yards and rushing for another 115. The junior accounted for 3 touchdowns, including a pair of rushing scores.
The Bulldogs improve to 5-2 (2-2 SEC) with the win.
Mississippi State fans were quite pleased with the performance, particularly with the play of Fitzgerald’s backup, Keytaon Thompson.
