Fletcher Cox is off to a hot start in the NFL’s first month, and he’s been rewarded for it.
The former Mississippi State defensive lineman was named NFC Defensive Player of the Month on Thursday, the Philadelphia Eagles announced.
Cox has already collected 14 tackles, six quarterback hurries, a forced fumble and three sacks through three games. He recorded eight tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble last week against the Steelers.
Cox becomes the first Eagles player to win the award since November 2014.
The Eagles signed Cox to a six-year extension in the offseason after drafting him with the No. 12 pick of the 2012 NFL Draft.
