Any NFL quarterback takes a couple licks on any Sunday during the season.
When rookie Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott lined up against the Bengals on Sunday, he took one from linebacker Vontaze Burfict.
Burfict is known around the NFL for his issues with personal fouls and giving out punishing blows, but Prescott is familiar with those types of hits.
"What about Vontaze Burfict's hit?"
Dak: "I played in the SEC against Alabama."

The Alabama defense has been one of the best in the country over the past decade and the Bulldogs haven’t beaten the Tide since 2007 in Starkville, Miss. The Crimson Tide only allowed six points to Prescott’s team in 2015, so he knows what it’s like to feel their power. Apparently, it’s stronger than any hit Burfict could lay on him.
Burfict played in the Pac-12 for Arizona State, so he never knew what it was like to play in the SEC week in and week out. The comment from Prescott may have stemmed from Burfict’s comments earlier in the week when he playfully said he didn’t know who Prescott was.
He certainly knows now after Prescott led the Cowboys to a 28-14 win.
