Saturday was already a big day for former Mississippi State quarterback Tyler Russell. And then he got engaged.
Russell, who played at Mississippi State from 2010-2013, was an honorary captain before the Bulldogs game against Arkansas. The quarterback threw for 42 touchdowns and 23 interceptions in his four year career with the Bulldogs. An injury in his senior season opened the door for Dak Prescott to take over.
Before the game, Russell dropped to a knee and proposed to his girlfriend. Per those at the stadium, she should yes.

Mississippi State fans hope this isn’t the only time one of their quarterbacks drops to a knee tonight. The Bulldogs have won thier last three matchups against Arkansas, including a 51-50 win over the Razorbacks last season.
Kickoff is set for a 7 p.m. start on ESPNU.
