Mississippi State is mourning the death of its former bulldog mascot, Champ, who served as Bully XX from 2009 to 2015.
The university athletic department announced the loss of Champ on Sunday on Twitter. He was replaced after the Bulldogs’ 2015 spring game by his son, Jak, who took on the mantle of Bully XXI. Champ was approaching his 11th birthday.
