Former Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott has impressed his bosses enough to make them end a search for an older backup possibility.
Speaking on 105.3 The Fan on Tuesday, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Prescott’s performance through two preseason games has closed the search for a seasoned reserve signal-caller. Jon Machota of the Dallas Morning News listened in:
Jerry Jones on @1053thefan (Shan & RJ): Dak Prescott's play "unquestionably" ends our search for a veteran backup QB

It’s hard to argue with Jones’ stance on this. Prescott has completed 22 of 27 passes for 338 yards with four touchdowns in the preseason. That’s a sizzling 81.5 completion percentage. He also has five carries for 41 yards with two touchdowns.
It remains to be seen if Prescott will maintain this amazing pace. But so far, he has been something else to watch.
