Todd Grantham is eager for his time at Mississippi State to begin.
On Wednesday, the Bulldogs hired Grantham as their new defensive coordinator after he spent the past three seasons working in the same role under Bobby Petrino at Louisville. Later in the day, the assistant wrote a heartfelt note released on Twitter that reflected on his time at Louisville and revealed optimism about the opportunity ahead in Starkville, Miss.

Grantham is switching conferences, but he’s no stranger to the SEC. He was Georgia’s defensive coordinator from 2010-13. This is a fine way to give a nod to his Louisville fans and offer a hat tip to his new fan base.
Mississippi State ranked 13th in the SEC this season in points allowed and 12th in total defense.
