Fred Ross, meet the record books.
On Saturday, the Mississippi State wide receiver broke the school record for receiving yards, when he moved past 2,270 yards for his career. He passed former Bulldogs wide receiver Chad Bumphis, who had that many yards from 2009 to 2012.
Ross needed 19 yards at Bryant-Denny Stadium to set the mark. He had three catches for 23 yards as of play in the second quarter.
Not much is going well for Mississippi State, though. Alabama is leading the Bulldogs 27-0 late in the second quarter. Mississippi State entered the day 4-5 overall with a 2-3 mark in the SEC.
