Brent Rooker had an unbelievable season, and he achieved history in the process.
With the end of the College World Series between LSU and Florida on Tuesday night, the Mississippi State first baseman became the second player in league history to win the SEC Triple Crown. Former baseball star Rafael Palmeiro, who played for Mississippi State in college, was the first to accomplish the feat in 1984.
This season, Rooker hit .387 with 23 home runs and 82 RBIs for the Bulldogs. Palmeiro hit .415 with 29 home runs and 94 RBIs for Mississippi State during his historic season.
Mississippi State fans will remember his effort for a long time.
