A win over No. 4 Texas A&M on Saturday raised Mississippi State’s spirits and added a much-needed shot of positivity into an erratic year in Starkville. Quarterback Nick Fitzgerald combined for 391 yards and accounted for four touchdowns in the 35-28 win, dashing the Aggies’ College Football Playoff hopes in the process.
The win resuscitated Mississippi State’s postseason goal in the process. The Bulldogs got their tough four-game end to the season off with an unexpected victory, and now must win two of three against top-ranked Alabama, Arkansas and Ole Miss to make the a bowl.
