Mississippi State linebacker’s last-minute question saves the Bulldogs
There were 46 seconds left in the game. His team was down 51-50, and Arkansas kicker Cole Hedlund had one thing on his mind: the game-winning, 29-yard field goal he was lined up for.
On the other side of the ball, Mississippi State junior linebacker Beniquez Brown had one thing on his mind: getting to Hedlund.
Just before that, when the Bulldogs’ field goal defense unit was sent out on the field, that wasn’t going to be Brown’s assignment.
Beniquez Brown said he was supposed to cover the tight end on the field goal, but asked coaches last second if he could go for block instead

Someone on the sideline said yes, and Brown made them look like a genius. Brown got his hands on the football, blocking the kick, and securing the win for the Bulldogs.
Mississippi State left Arkansas with its fourth-straight win against the Razorbacks and the Bulldogs will sleep easier tonight because of a last-second idea from Brown.
