A day after changing defensive coordinators, it appears as though the Bulldogs are not done making changes to the coaching staff on the defensive side of the ball.
Per a report from Mississippi State beat writer Joel Coleman, Mississippi State has confirmed the departure of safeties coach Maurice Linguist. He is leaving Starkville for a chance to join P.J. Fleck’s staff at Minnesota.
Linguist spent just one season at Mississippi State after arriving as a member of Peter Sirmon’s staff. Sirmon was dumped as the Bulldogs defensive coordinator after one season in favor of former Georgia and Louisville defensive coordinator Todd Grantham.
Linguist’s previous coaching stop was at Iowa State.
As of Thursday morning, Linguist had already changed his Twitter profile picture to a Minnesota logo and appeared to be on the road recruiting for his new team.
Great Morning! Texas?, Georgia?, and Florida? boys…Im coming to get you! Let's get it!#RTB
