Nick Fitzgerald is ready to make an impact again for Mississippi State.
On Tuesday, an image of the Bulldogs quarterback throwing on a practice field was published on Mississippi State’s Twitter account. It was an encouraging sign for Fitzgerald, who sustained a horrific ankle injury in a loss to Ole Miss in November.
On Wednesday, the quarterback responded in a fun way that should excite Bulldogs fans.

If Fitzgerald comes back at full strength, he should be one of the SEC’s top quarterbacks again, no matter what some skeptics might say. He finished with 1,782 yards passing with 15 touchdowns and 11 interceptions last year.
Yes, Mississippi State is going through a significant change with Dan Mullen’s departure to Florida. But new Bulldogs coach Joe Moorhead should have plenty of talent to work with at a program that finished 9-4 last season with a victory against Louisville in the TaxSlayer Bowl. Fitzgerald was a big part of Mississippi State’s success in 2017, and the Bulldogs will have a high ceiling if he reaches his potential in the fall.
Fitzgerald’s progress this year will be one of the SEC’s top storylines to watch, for sure.
