Mississippi State already has an incoming 4-star dual-threat quarterback this season, and Dan Mullen now has a commitment from yet another for next season.
Jalen Mayden, a 4-star dual-threat quarterback from Sachse, Texas announced his commitment to the Bulldogs via Twitter on Tuesday night. He becomes just the second 4-star pledge for MSU in the Class of 2018.

The 6-foot-2, 215-pound Mayden is rated as the No. 12 dual-threat QB and No. 257 overall prospect in the cycle, according to the 247Sports composite ranking. Mayden also had SEC offers from Georgia and Tennessee among many other notable programs, including Ohio State.
Mayden had unofficially visited the Bulldogs on April 1. The school was part of a top 5 that included Baylor, Louisville, Nebraska and Tennessee.
With Mayden’s decision, the school’s Class of 2018 now ranks 24th nationally and 4th in the SEC by the 247Sports composite ranking.
Another dual-threat QB, Keytaon Thompson, was a 2017 early enrollee out of New Orleans. He went 6-of-20 passing for 80 yards for the White squad in the team’s April spring game.
