Mississippi State linebacker Dez Harris tweeted on Sunday that life can throw some weird pitches at you. While we couldn’t be sure what that referred to at the time, his statement certainly held some personal truth this week.
On Monday, Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen announced in his press conference that Harris suffered a torn ACL against Louisiana Tech and will miss the rest of the season.
This is the second straight year the redshirt sophomore linebacker’s season has ended with a torn ACL. It is also Harris’ third major knee injury since his senior year of high school.
But Harris remained in high spirits on social media.
“Well it hit Twitter before I got a chance too but yes I just tore my ACL this past Saturday yes it’s the 3rd time and yes I will be back!,” Harris said via Twitter.
Harris had played in all seven games this season and recorded nine tackles.
