Welcome to More Cowbell, SEC Country’s daily podcast about Mississippi State sports with host Brandon Walker.
Mississippi State capped a highlight-filled sports year with a pair of wins at ESPN’s ESPY Awards Show Wednesday night. The MSU women’s basketball team, following an appearance in the Final Four and national championship game, was awarded with Best Upset for its 66-64 overtime victory over UConn in the national semifinal, a win that snapped UConn’s 111-game winning streak. Later, former MSU quarterback Dak Prescott was named ESPN’s Breakthrough Athlete of the Year, putting a cap on his incredible year.
Elsewhere, SEC Media Days wrapped up today, and host Brandon Walker has his take on Hugh Freeze’s appearance before the assembled media.
