Darryl Williams was motionless on the ground for more than 10 minutes Saturday against Kentucky.
Not the case for Williams, who eventually had movement in his extremities and spent the night in Lexington before returning to Starksville. He’s going to miss this week against Samford according to head coach Dan Mullen, but looks to be fine soon after.
It’s a lucky ending to a situation which could have been much worse. Williams posted a message of thanks to Twitter on Wednesday, showing gratitude toward the people who prayed for him and showing insight into what he was thinking on the field.

The Bulldogs luckily face an FCS opponent this weekend so Williams can rest before they play Texas A&M. Mullen acknowledged on Monday that Williams’ mother was contacted soon after the injury and a staffer stayed with Williams throughout the ordeal.
