Football became a secondary thought for players and fans of Kentucky and Mississippi State on Saturday evening.
During a Bulldogs field goal attempt, Mississippi State offensive lineman Darryl Williams went to the ground and was unable to get up under his own power. Reports are not specific on what potential injury he may have sustained, but teammates and opponents alike were visibly shaken during the SEC Network television broadcast.
The redshirt freshman had his face mask removed and was taken off the field via stretcher after more than 10 minutes on the ground in front of a subdued crowd. It was reported by the SEC Network telecast that Williams will be transported to the nearby UK hospital.
