It has started. Six months after leaving Mississippi State to take the coaching job at Florida, former MSU coach Dan Mullen started pushing buttons with MSU’s fan base on Monday. During one of his speaking engagements tied to Florida’s statewide summer tour, Mullen said he believes his team’s trip to Starkville on Sept. 29 could be the biggest game ever played in Mississippi.
That’s wrong, of course, and Mullen knows it’s wrong. But he’s always been skilled at antagonizing opposing fan bases, no matter how foolish it may be.
