Welcome to More Cowbell, SEC Country’s daily podcast about Mississippi State sports with host Brandon Walker.
Wow, that was impressive. Mississippi State dominated a 5-1 Kentucky team on Saturday, taking the Wildcats behind the woodshed and administering a 45-7 blowout. The list of players that impressed in that game is a long one, but host Brandon Walker details everything that stood out to him. We also move forward a bit, looking at the Texas A&M game, a very winnable road trip for MSU.
Against Kentucky, MSU quarterback Nick Fitzgerald had one of his most efficient games for the Bulldogs, and if that Fitzgerald shows up each week, the Bulldogs will be hard to beat the rest of this season. There’s also the offensive line, which has evolved from a nice story into one of the SEC’s best individual units.
But the story of this game was MSU’s defense, which continues a remarkable turnaround under defensive coordinator Todd Grantham.
