Welcome to More Cowbell, SEC Country’s daily podcast about Mississippi State sports with host Brandon Walker
Mississippi State basketball is headed to New York City. Thanks to an impressive 23-point victory at Louisville on Tuesday night, MSU will head to Madison Square Garden for the NIT semifinals next week.
The win at Louisville is the latest in a three-game run that has shown MSU’s full potential for next season, when every single playmaker will be back. More Cowbell host Brandon Walker was already confident about MSU’s NCAA Tournament chances next season, but this run through the NIT shows how good MSU can eventually be.
Elsewhere, MSU started spring football practice on Tuesday, the first practice under coach Joe Moorhead. The Bulldogs return a loaded roster in 2018 and there are plenty of reasons for fans to be excited. One of those reasons is quarterback Nick Fitzgerald, who looked like he’s made great progress in his recovery from an injury last season.
