With Dan Mullen off to be the next head coach of the Florida Gators, the Mississippi State Bulldogs now find themselves in the beginning stages of a coaching search.
As painful as it may be to watch Mullen leave, however, it seems as if Mississippi State was well prepared for this possibility. In a statement, university president Mark E. Keenum said:
‘I have shared my vision with Athletics Director John Cohen and I am confident that John will move quickly and decisively to fill our coaching vacancy with the best possible person to build on the success of our program.’
Who that ‘best possible person’ is is, of course, unknown at this time, but it seems as if Mississippi State will move quickly toward making a quality hire.
