Mississippi State’s 2019 recruiting class suffered a notable setback on Friday.
Jarrian Jones, an unranked safety out of Northwest Rankin High School (Flowood, Miss.), announced his de-commitment from the Bulldogs on Twitter. The in-state product first pledged himself to MSU in late December. While Jones will weigh all of his options, he notes in the message that Mississippi State remains one of his top schools.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Jones also holds offers from Ole Miss, Georgia and Minnesota, according to his 247Sports profile page.
With Jones out of the picture, at least for now, 3-star junior college defensive end Drelan Porter is the only player committed to Mississippi State for 2019.
