Mississippi State had one of the worst punting units in the SEC in 2016, placing 12th out of 14 teams with fewer than 40 yards per punt.
But that unit picked up a big boost with the addition of Tucker Day on Sunday, a U.S. Army All-American.

Day, a 2-star recruit, ranks as the No. 10 punter in the country. He’s the only ranked punter committed to an SEC school, according to 247Sports.
Day is the 22nd member of Mississippi State’s Class of 2017, which ranks 22nd nationally but 10th in the SEC.
