Well this is not something you see every day. The Mississippi State Bulldogs lead the University of Connecticut — winners of 111 straight games — by eight at halftime of the teams’ Final Four matchup in Dallas. That eight point lead is the largest the Huskies have faced during their nearly three-season-long win streak.
A win tonight for Mississippi State would set up an SEC vs. SEC NCAA final on Sunday, as South Carolina defeated Stanford earlier Friday night to advance to the title game. Should the Bulldogs hold on, it would go down as one of the biggest, most dramatic upsets in sports’ history, let alone women’s basketball.
