There was some good news Monday about Mississippi State wide receiver De’Runnya Wilson, who left Saturday’s game against Alabama with an undisclosed injury.
“He’s going to be fine,” coach Dan Mullen said during his weekly press conference.
“We’ll see how he’ll be this week. I don’t think we’ll know until later in the week what his status will be. But it’s not anything that’s a threatening injury.”
Wilson went down after tackling an Alabama player who had intercepted MSU quarterback Dak Prescott in the fourth quarter. He lay on the ground for a few minutes before standing up and being carted to the locker room.
“In the game, you see it all the time, and it’s scary, with head and neck injuries,” Mullen said, adding that the reality wasn’t as scary as it seemed.
“It’s nothing that’s going to be lasting for him.”
