If you’re an SEC football coach, fielding reporters’ questions about injured players often turns into a weekly ritual. Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen has apparently had enough.
While addressing the media on Tuesday night, Mullen was set off by a question about injured wide receivers Gabe Myles and Joe Morrow, according to The Clarion-Ledger’s Michael Bonner. Myles missed the Kentucky game, while Morrow had been limited. The exchange somehow led to a particularly fiery quote from the Bulldogs’ coach.
“I’ll never comment on an injury, because you guys obviously don’t need me to comment on injuries, (because) you know more than I do,” Mullen said, per Bonner.
This is far from the first time a coach has been at odds with reporters over injury news, so Mullen’s likelihood of living up to his promise does not seem high.
