Mississippi State freshman defensive back Jamal Peters will wear Keith Joseph, Jr.’s jersey against Alabama on Saturday to honor his friend who died in a car accident last Friday.
Peters and fellow freshman defensive back Mark McLaurin drove Joseph to his father’s house Friday afternoon. That night, Joseph and his father, Keith Joseph, Sr., were both killed in a one-car accident.
Thursday afternoon, Mississippi State honored Joseph Jr. and Sr. with a memorial service. On Saturday, on the biggest stage of the season for MSU, Peters will honor his best friend by wearing Joseph’s name and his No. 99 jersey.

The entire team will be wearing “MJ” decals on their helmets as well, as seen on the back of Peters’ lid.
