Dak Prescott as the NFL MVP in 2017?
One NFC scout considers it a possibility.
In a piece reported by Bleacher Report’s Mike Freeman, an NFC scout is quoted as saying the Mississippi State quarterback will win a close MVP race over Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
“This will be a tight MVP race,” the scout told Freeman. “I think Prescott wins a close one.”
That would be quite the development for Prescott and the Cowboys. The former Bulldogs signal-caller burst onto the scene last season by throwing for 3,667 yards with 23 touchdowns and 4 interceptions in leading Dallas to the NFL playoffs. Given how quickly Prescott adapted to the NFL, it’s not crazy to envision a scenario in which Prescott wins the NFL MVP. Still, he must avoid the dreaded sophomore slump to make it happen.
But Prescott has shown over and over an ability to stay grounded and driven. His development will be one of the more interesting topics to follow in the coming season.
