Last week, Weatherspoon told Clarion Ledger reporter Will Sammon that he planned to enter the 2018 NBA Draft pool but wouldn’t hire an agent. By not hiring an agent, he could be evaluated but retain the the option to return for his sophomore season based on his draft projection.
The former 4-star prospect averaged 10.8 points, 2.1 assists and 2.9 rebounds while starting all 36 games for the Bulldogs during his freshman season in Starkville.
Weatherspoon’s older brother, Quinndary, also announced his decision to enter the 2018 NBA Draft pool without hiring an agent last week via Twitter.
