Talk about a sizzling second half.
Mississippi State crushed Southern Miss 86-44 on Monday thanks to a ridiculous 35-0 run in the second half.
By any standard, the Bulldogs had things under control after racing to a 39-25 halftime lead. But Mississippi State’s dominance in the second half provided an exclamation mark on the night.

Stat line of the game: Mississippi State’s edge in field-goal percentage
When a blowout like this happens, it’s no surprise that one team will have a huge edge in field-goal percentage. But the Bulldogs shot 49.2 percent from the floor, and Southern Miss was just 23.1 percent. Wild.
Turning point of the game: The 35-0 run
Talk about a fierce rally to begin the second half. Mississippi State entered halftime up 39-25, but the Bulldogs buried Southern Miss with a 35-0 run in the second half that extended their lead to 76-29. There was no doubt about the outcome after Mississippi State finished mangling Southern Miss during this crazy stretch.
Mississippi State's 35-0 run is finally over after a Southern Miss 3. That was crazy.
