Junior college defensive back Laquadarius Landrews committed to Mississippi State, according to a report from Mississippi State 247. He will reportedly graduate in December and enroll with the Bulldogs in January.
Landrews is a 6-foot-1, 190-pound safety from Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Mississippi. He was lightly recruited out of McComb (Miss.) High School, but has increased his stock since arriving on the JUCO campus. Landrews qualified out of high school, which opens different doors than junior college prospects who did not qualify.
Landrews starred during his first season in community college, leading the team with eight pass breakups and two interceptions. In addition to Mississippi State, Landrews held offers from Arkansas, Middle Tennessee State and Southern Miss.
Landrews is the 21st commitment in Dan Mullen’s 2017 recruiting class and the fifth defensive back prospect. His commitment brings the Bulldogs’ class into the top 15.
