Former Mississippi State guard Gabe Jackson will be a rich man.
As reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport on Thursday, the Oakland Raiders are signing Jackson to a five-year extension worth $56 million. It’s a clear move that the Raiders are interested in keeping Jackson around for a long, long time.
The former first-team all-SEC selection was taken in the third round, 81st overall in the 2014 NFL Draft. He has started 44 of 45 games played for Oakland from 2014-16. Along the way, he established himself as one of the pillars of the Raiders’ offensive line.

It’s great to see production and hard work rewarded in this way. As long as Jackson remains healthy, he should remain a huge part of the Raiders’ plans.
