Mississippi State recently received word that QB Elijah Staley was transferring. The Bulldogs are adding a quarterback to their roster just two days later.
Wyatt Roberts, a former standout for East Mississippi Community College, is joining the Bulldogs today, 247Sports’ Paul Jones reported. It’s the same school where current Auburn QB John Franklin III attended before transferring to the Tigers.
Wyatt played in nine games last season for East Mississippi Community College, completing 65.4 percent of his passes for 2,197 yards, 23 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. He also amassed 243 rushing yards and 3 more TDs on the ground.
Roberts had the chance to join Mississippi State as a preferred walk-on coming out of high school, but he opted to join East Mississippi instead, 247Sports reported. Roberts already had enrolled at Mississippi State before joining this year’s team.
