The Clarion-Ledger’s Michael Bonner reported on Wednesday that Mississippi State had found its next athletic director.
That report appears to be inaccurate, according to multiple reports.
Bonner wrote that the university had hired baseball coach John Cohen to be Mississippi State’s 17th athletic director.
Football coach Dan Mullen commented on the news during Wednesday’s SEC teleconference, saying “I don’t think there’s any truth to a new AD being named.”
Several others disputed Bonner’s report:
An MSU spokesman says regarding Cohen as AD: "The report is inaccurate. The search process continues as previously outlined by Dr. Keenum."

I'm told by a person with knowledge of the situation Mississippi State has not hired an AD yet.
