As Mississippi State works toward rounding out its 2017 class, the Bulldogs reportedly picked up a 2018 commitment.
That’s according to 247Sports’ Paul Jones, who reports that Mississippi cornerback Esaias Furdge committed to the Bulldogs on Friday.
The 3-star cornerback from Clarksdale (Miss.) High School chose Mississippi over Southern Miss — his only other scholarship offer at this time.
The 6-foot, 185-pound recruit is ranked as the nation’s No. 52 cornerback and the state of Mississippi’s No. 9 overall player, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.
Furdge becomes the Bulldogs’ fourth commitment of their 2018 class, joining 4-star wide receiver Malik Heath, 3-star defensive end Drelan Porter and offensive tackle Kwatrivous Johnson.
