A Mississippi State student died after accidentally falling from the Davis Wade Stadium scoreboard early Saturday morning, according to The Clarion Ledger’s Jacob Threadgill.
Andrew Scott Demboski, a 21-year old junior environmental economics and management major, fell 18 feet after walking on a metal awning on the stadium, according to a Threadgill. Oktibbeha County Coroner Michael Hunt told Threadgill that the student went into cardiac arrest after hitting his head during the fall. Two other male students were with Demboski when emergency units were called to the scene.
“Andrew was a very talented student,” said Mississippi State Chief Communications Officer Sid Salter, according to Threadgill. “Our campus is saddened by this loss on the day of Spring Commencement, and we mourn Andrew’s passing and are keeping his family in our prayers.”
