Mississippi State gained a nice basketball commit on Monday, as DJ Stewart, a 4-star forward from Greenville, Miss., has chosen to play for the Bulldogs. Stewart announced his choice on Twitter.
Stewart is the No. 114 recruit in the Class of 2018, per the 247sports composite rankings. He is also No. 33 small forward and the No. 2 Mississippi recruit.
The Mississippi State basketball coach landed a committment four-star prospect from Riverside as D.J. Stewart selected the Bulldogs over Alabama, Ole Miss and Illinois, according to Will Sammon of The Clarion-Ledger.

Stewart is a 6-foot-6 wing player. As a junior, he averaged 18.9 points, 9.7 rebounds and 3.1 assists at Riverside.
Stewart joins a class which already includes five-star forward Reggie Perry, who is the 14th-ranked prospect on the 247Sports composite rankings.
