Welcome to More Cowbell, SEC Country’s daily podcast about Mississippi State sports with host Brandon Walker.
The tentacles of the NCAA’s investigation into Ole Miss football once again reached out and grabbed Mississippi State Wednesday night, as it was reported that MSU linebacker Leo Lewis has been asked by the NCAA to appear at the Ole Miss hearing with the NCAA’s Committee on Infractions. This is an unusual step and the latest in a long line of twists and turns in this case. Today, we turned to Scout.com’s Steve Robertson, who has been on top of this investigation from the start. Robertson shares his views on the Lewis situation and discusses any concern MSU might have over the decision. Robterson also talks about a report made by SBNation on the NCAA’s investigation into Ole Miss wide received Donte Moncrief, a story that was published on Wednesday.
We also discuss the last seven days, including what led to Robertson uncovering the phone call that eventually led to Hugh Freeze’s resignation and the fallout from it.
