Was the Lambeau Field stage going to be too big for a rookie quarterback from Mississippi State?
As it turns out, no. But Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre suggested the size of the moment might get to Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott on Sunday.
After Prescott proved Favre wrong, to the tune of 247 yards passing and three touchdowns in a 30-16 Cowboys win, FOX Sports announcer Erin Andrews asked Prescott about that comment. His response was most excellent:
“I just stayed within the moment,” Prescott said. “I stayed within the gameplan. My coaches, my teammates… everybody helped me. It was a great atmosphere. It was definite that. But I played in the SEC, so I’ve been preparing for that for a little bit.”
That response drew a smile from Andrews, who is very familiar with the SEC from her time as a student at Florida and a former college football reporter for ESPN.
The Cowboys are now 5-1 under the leadership of the fourth-round pick, which has led to overwhelming support for Prescott in his quest to keep the starter quarterback job that was vacated by Pro Bowler Tony Romo after a preseason back injury.
