The dab can’t be contained to a single sideline.
Sunday provided a monumental moment at Bank of America Stadium. Former Auburn quarterback Cam Newton, now with the Carolina Panthers, brought back the dab against the Kansas City Chiefs after supposedly retiring the move last offseason. He broke out the dab after a 4-yard touchdown run in the second quarter gave Carolina a 10-0 lead, much to the delight of the home crowd.
But at least one Chiefs defender with an SEC connection wanted to throw the dab back in Newton’s face.
Check out what Kansas City defensive lineman Chris Jones, a rookie from Mississippi State, did after sacking Newton below. So incredible.

You have to love the competitive fire from Jones here. Why not do a little dab to bruise Newton’s ego? This is the NFL after all. All players should be considered entertainers.
The Chiefs went on to receive the last laugh. Kansas City won 20-17 after Cairo Santos made a 37-yard field goal as time expired, proving that Newton’s dab didn’t include extra mojo for the Panthers. Carolina dropped to 3-6 with the loss.
At least the dab hasn’t seen its final day. We’re all winners in that way.
