Things are looking bright for the future of Mississippi State’s football program. New head coach Joe Moorhead is bringing a new mentality to Starkville, and fans will get their first chance to see it on Saturday.
The Bulldogs are set to kick off their annual spring game at 4:00 PM ET on the SEC Network. In honor of Moorhead’s debut in Davis Wade Stadium, the team’s official Twitter account released an intense hype video prior to the game.

The main storyline would’ve been star quarterback Nick Fitzgerald, but he’s still recovering from a broken ankle he suffered against Ole Miss in last season’s Egg Bowl. That doesn’t mean there won’t be a lot to talk about, however.
This State defense can be a terror on opposing offenses next season. Last season, they finished with the No. 3 ranked defense in the SEC (No. 10 in the nation).
They’re returning some significant starters too, including star defensive linemen Jeffery Simmons and Montez Sweat. The two combined for 15.5 sacks last season. In addition, they’ll also be joined by former Georgia defensive lineman Chauncey Rivers, who was ruled ineligible last season after transferring from East Mississippi.
There’s a lot to like about this Mississippi State team. The road to competing for an SEC West title starts Saturday, so buckle your seatbelts.
