The first step toward the weekend has been taken, and teams have begun to put the last game behind them to focus on the contest ahead. Fortunately for Ole Miss, the next couple of games should provide a great opportunity to work out some kinks and get back to dominant form. In fact, Rebels coach Hugh Freeze said as much on Monday.
Here’s what you need to know today:
- At his weekly press conference, Freeze said that he was hopeful they would hear a final word on All-American left tackle Laremy Tunsil by the end of the week. Now would be the optimal time for Tunsil’s return as he would have a couple of games to get back into rhythm before Ole Miss takes on No. 9 Texas A&M on Oct. 24.
- Freeze also opened up about last Saturday’s game against Florida at Monday’s press conference. He talked about the differences between Alabama’s and Florida’s defensive line, and why the Gators gave them so much trouble. Despite the loss, Freeze is still optimistic about his team’s chances moving forward, but said his team is “not elite right now.”
